September 2010	September 24: A Tesco proposed for the centre of a Surrey village (Ashtead) was allowed, but a larger option was rejected as excessive. In the inspector's view, a larger store would claw back more trade. He was also concerned that the scheme would lead to the loss of a substantial number of trees which were making a significant contribution to the village's character. July 2010	Isle of Man: Plans to extend a Tesco store in Douglas have been shelved by the Manx Council of Ministers.
